Well I must say this week was a challenge creating a SHABBY CHIC project.
I think of shabby chic as a mix of new and old with a sort of rustic feel, so I chose this image CAR 3 as it's an old/vintage vehicle that I thought I could make look shabby and chic.

I'm really pleased with how it turned out. I coloured the truck with COPICS using blues and grey and found some great distressed looking papers in my stash. Isn't it great when you find you have something that works perfectly with your plan?
I used a distress tool from Close to My Heart that I bought several years ago, and honestly, I've hardly used it, but I made it feel useful creating this card. I used it around the mat of the image and also around the distressed grey patterned paper on the card.
I used some good ol' fashioned string from around the house to add some texture to the card, and frayed it after I tied the knot.
It turned out to be a fun project after all, and I'm pleased to be able to add another Masculine Birthday card to my collection...after all, who can't use more Masculine cards, right?? !!
I do hope you'll take the challenge and create something in the SHABBY CHIC Style for a chance to win here at Fitztown. I look forward to seeing what you create !!
Definitely a great card for a man Lynn ..... I love how you have distressed the brilliant papers to create a very shabby chic look. Ingrid xx ♥
