Unexpected Glitz

I've heard tell it cannot be done... I'm here to show you it can be done! ;)

I've been making lots of masculine cards of late. Getting out of my comfort zone, stretching the limits, see what it is I'm really made of. ;) It's been hard to keep from adding bling, flowers and ribbon.

When I saw this image, it brought back memories of camping trips and fishing when we lived up in New Hampshire. I can clearly remember the way the setting sun made the trees, dirt road and water glisten. I have pictures of my kids as children holding up their catch and in every single one of them the fish glisten from being wet. So... I went for it!

Here's my card:

I colored the image with Copic markers. The background is colored with Pebbles, Inc. Pearlescent jewel-tone chalks. All card stock and rhinestones are from my stash. I've used The Angel Company and Raisin Boat stamp sets to stamp the background as well. I've dotted the entire background with Stickles in Star Dust, Firefly and Baby Blue to give the card some shimmer. I dabbed the fish with Stickles in Platinum and covered the surface with Glossy Accents to give the appearance of slimy, wet fish. :) lol The image is from Morgan Fitzsimons called Fishing.

Here are some close ups of the shimmer.

Trees and water...
Fish...
Dirt road...
I can't help but be a little giddy! lol I've used rhinestones and Stickles on a masculine card!! :)

Hope you'll join us for our Challenge #7 - Add Sparkle. Show us some of your glitz and glam!
