SPUNK FAIRY - FAE 33

Hello once again bloggers with another great image from Fitztown.   Join us here at the Fitztown Challenge Blog for a challenge.
I began with a tag, Tim Holtz Distress Inks, Fired Brick and Barn Door. Crackle Paint (Rock Candy) for the crystal ice affect.  I also used an Idealology Arrow Adornment, Mini Gear, Metal Word Band.  A few pieces of screen throughout the tag and some twisted metal that I purchased and was waiting for a good time to use it.
Ranger's Glossy Accent was used on her top hat,
upper garment.

I traced her wings on vellum paper and used my Copic Pen C0, C1 for a translucent affect.
Notice the shadow over her left shoulder and you can have an idea of how I used my awesome Bumble Bee percision scissors.  You can't really tell but her hair is spiked by the way I used my scissors for detailed snips.

That's it for now peeps... Don't forget to visit my blog,

Thank you for visiting the Fitztown's Challenge Blog.

Design Day With Lynn

It's Lynn here with another Creative Design to go along with this week's challenge
Challenge #45 - Browns.

I used this great masculine image SPORTS 9 which can be found here.

Who can't use more masculine cards in their stash, right?

I used some burlap strips I had on hand, coloured the image with copics and chalked the water and sky.  The enamel buttons are made by melting Perler beads in the oven.
They are a perfect addition to my card as they add texture/dimension without being too "girly".

I do hope you'll play along with us on this challenge.
It's pretty easy to use browns on just about any creation, especially a masculine card like this.

DT Thursday

My turn to do the post today at Fitztown and the theme this week is "Browns"
I use the image Teddy 5 and color it with my new Faber Castell Polychromos.
Love then already, spend all day out and coloring in the sun!!
Color a heart dolily in brown with watercolor and add it to a paperhert in light brown.
Use lace around it and cut out the image with a die cut and place it on the doily.
My embellis are besides that flowers, leaf and a bow!!

Take care in the sun

GD Jacqui - Browns

Hi there everyone its Jacqui back again with my final challenge project for this guest term.

This is one of the projects that took me out of my comfort zone and i'm really glad of that.  I really  think we tend to do what we know and what's safe.  Because of this project i've now started to challenge myself in more ways by using different size cards and images etc.

For this challenge I used Dog 6 from Fitztown i'm a real animal lover with 2 cats and a big husky but i've never really used an animal image before and I really love this card.  I've even purchased some more animal stuff to use in future.

Because i'm now challenging myself instead of my usual 8x8 base I used an A6 card blank.
Kraft Card
A patterned paw print card from my stash
A sizzix shape die
Creata mirror board and rub ons
Sizzix friends die
Sue Wilson border die
A dog button
Butterfly die
Gems

I love how this turned out and hope you do too! And if you can let me know.
Till next time Jacqui over and out.

GD Cathie - Altered Item

Hi everyone,
Cathie here Guest Designing for Fitztown's Altered Item Challenge. I have to say this was my first ever altered item, I have always stayed with making cards and have never ventured into any kind of mixed media before; but that is what it is all about, crafting outside your comfort zone. I am really happy with how it has turned out.

Fitztown Cameo 14

I have used Fitztown's Cameo 14 image and coloured it with Copics adding some sparkle here and there.
I have used pattern paper from Rosie's Studio and embellished with flowers and swirls.

For all the details and to see inside the box as well as an extra tutorial.
head over to my blog House of Borowski

So start looking at things around the house in a whole new light and alter them. You have until midnight EST Sunday 27th July 2014 to get those entries in.

Have a great day everyone.

GD Julie -- Altered Card Box

Hi everyone, Julie here today from Muddy Paws & Inky Fingers. I'm honored to be guest designing again today.  This week's theme on the challenge blog is an "altered item". One of my favorite things to alter are card boxes -- it's something I can have on hand and give as a gift, filled with handmade cards:
The box is 6 1/2 x 4 1/2 x 2 inches deep.  It will hold about 8 handmade cards with envelopes, depending on how embellished they are.  I inked the edges of the box with Tim Holtz Distress Stain in Tarnished Silver, then, using Mod Podge, attached Close To My Heart paper from the Lucy paper pack.  I used the Fitztown image, Garden 7 as the focal point, coloring the flowers to match the papers.  I used Copic markers to color the flowers.  I used a Spellbinders Gold label die in 2 sizes.  The flowers started out white, but I inked them to match the papers and added matching brads (flowers and brads from CTMH).  The rhinestone flourish is also from Close To My Heart.
Here's a view where you can see the box a bit better:
This is a great challenge -- it takes us out of our comfort zones a bit and does what it's supposed to -- challenges us!  I had a wonderful time as a guest designer with my altered card box!

Design Day with Lynn

It's Lynn (aka Lynnpenguin)  here with another Design Day creation!

This week I had fun with the VALENTINE 13 image.

Challenge #43 - Pick a Holiday
I chose Valentine's Day (which isn't really a holiday, but it should be)

I created this shaped Valentine's Day card by printing the image fairly large and cutting it out.  Then I cut a back (inside) piece too and attached them together after printing "Happy Valentine's Day" on the inside piece.
I also added some pearls to the heart to dress it up a little bit.
Here's a look at it inside:

I am very pleased with how this turned out.
I hope you'll play along with us for the current challenge here at Fitztown.

GD Jacqui - Pick a Holiday

Hi again everyone GD Jacqui back with another project for you

This challenge was to pick a holiday and as summer is coming (I hope) and i've just booked my summer holiday to Majorca I decided to go for a summer holiday theme.

I must say its lovely to be back working with the Fitztown images as I really love using flowers and fairies and they've also given me images that took me out of my comfort zone which is awesome as I think we do tend to stick to the familiar instead of challenging ourselves more.  Anyway onto the card.

For this project I used the Fitztown image Valentine 5
I used a 6x6 card base
Green & pink card from my stash
Promarkers to colour
Banner from a magazine
Some ceramic flowers from my stash
A leaf die
Half pearls
Creata gold rub ons
Two gold metal embellishments from my stash
And a sentiment to finish

I really hope you like and if you do plz pop by and let me know.
Till next time Jacqui over and out xx
