Fairy Child
Good morning Fitztown girls! We're so glad to see you back here again! :)
This is my final card for the handmade flower challenge.
I've made my flower out of tulle. I cut a strip about 9" (L) X 2" (W) and folded it in half. I used needle and thread to stitch through the fold weaving in and out without any rhyme or reason. Once I had the entire section threaded, I pulled the thread tight and tied a knot. I pulled and pushed the tulle until it formed a flat round, gathered circle. I glued the center down and added a flower rhinestone on top. I then dabbed Stickles in Petal Pink to the edge of the tulle. I thought it made a very simple and pretty, delicate looking flower.
Here's my card:
All supplies are from my stash. The image is Fairy Child Stamp Forget Me Not by Morgan Fitzsimons.
Don't forget to join us for our handmade flower challenge. There's only a few days left! We'd love to see what kind of flowers you like to make.

Challenge 5 Winner - Anything Goes
Thank you to everyone who entered our Anything Goes Challenge.
I think we had a pretty good turnout! There were enough entries to have a TOP 3 as well! Woohoo! A big thank you to all our participants!
Our intention was to use Random.org if we had over ten participants. However, we only had five entries using a Fitztown image so we had the DT chose a favorite from the five entries.

Fashionista
Thanks for joining us today. We continue with our handmade flower challenge.
I've been making flowers again and this time... it took me SIX hours to make this card! Can you believe it? I have to admit... I did a bit of talking and entertaining while I was making the card. My friend, Maria, was at my house this past Saturday and we spent the day cropping. I'm afraid I'm somewhat of a chatterbox! lol So in the midst of cutting paper, gluing, inking, adding pearls, using a die cut on the colored image, finding a tag, stamping the sentiment and making the flowers, I was doing what I do best. Chatting away! lol ;)
Here's my card:
All supplies are from my stash and I've made all the flowers. I colored the image with Copic markers. The printed card stock is Graphic 45's Fashionista Collection. The sentiment is from a Raisin Boat clear stamp set. You can see a picture tutorial on how I made these flowers here. I've used Morgan Fitzsimons' digital image called 1920s Hat 2.
We hope you'll join us in our current challenge. We would LOVE to see what types of handmade flowers you make!

Yellow, Bright and a Small Candy
Welcome for joining us today! It's Sande here sharing a new card with a handmade flower.
I've made my flower by using a yellow lace and rolling it as a flower and using a hot melt adhesive to mount it. I put this gorgeous button in the middle. Don't you just love this button? I did find these a while ago in one store and they were on sale. I bought at least 3 bags of buttons :).

And the gorgeous button :)
The image is one of Morgan Fitzsimons called Forget me not. I have colored her with my Copics and added some glittering glue and rhinestones. I'm not sure who's papers I have used because I have a BIG box full of 6" x 6" papers and they are all separated. The pins I bought from Live and Love Crafts (LLC) and decorated them myself. Also the corner embellishment is from LLC.
You can find our current challenge "Handmade flowers" HERE. I cannot wait to see what types of handmade flowers you make!
I have a surprise! :)
I want to offer this yellow polka dots ribbon to someone who leaves a comment under this post during this day (Wednesday) on Eastern Daylight time. The winner will be announced end of this week.

* to be our follower
* put the photo of this ribbon to your blog

August Guest Designer
Please join us in welcoming our Guest Designer for the month of August, Alan Scott. Alan is a DT member for Cards for Men.
We are very excited about having him with us. We are looking forward to see what he will be creating to share with Fitztown and our followers!
Alan tells us a little bit about himself:
"I have been involved in Crafting in one way or another since my Mum started to teach me how to cook, Sew and Knit. These skills have kept with me since then. Crafting has played a big part in my life both as a Student and a Teacher. Education wise l have a C&G Teacher training and Photography. CENTRA Group Workers Certificate. BH [Hons] Design as well as BA[Hons] Textile/Surface Design. I would like to bring together all the skills l have learnt and observed into my crafting. Then in some small way sharing with my fellow crafters both New and Old. As a crafter l never stop learning. There is someone out there that will place their own twist onto something and then offer that out to the crafting community. I hope in my way lm doing just that. Crafting is all about FUN. There is no right and no wrong way of placing one piece of paper onto another its all about your own expression of what you are doing. Some crafters create theses wonderful creations, that does not mean to say that another crafters work of a simple stamping onto some paper is not just as beautiful and creative. RELAX, ENJOY and more importantly BE CREATIVE no matter what level you are at.
I have a FLICKR Account that i upload all my card projects after I have photographed them. Please click here to be directed to this site. I hope that you might gain some inspiration from one or two of the cards on view. We all get crafters block and I myself can gain a creative spark from looking at what's been made and uploaded to the web. So pull your chair up closer and have a good look. I hope something you see from The Collection might light that spark if your suffering from Crafters Block.
I have made 2 videos so far and uploaded them to YouTube. This is something I want to explore and in the new year I hope to upload what I hope will be funny and informative crafting videos."
This is the first project Alan has graced us with. Please be sure to leave some blog love for him!
Thanks for joining us in making Alan feel welcomed to Fitztown.

Giddy Up!
Ride 'em cowboy! Yeehaw! I got a hankerin' for some country living! lol
I love the country. When we lived in Connecticut, we lived in the town of Lebanon and it was very spread out. We lived in one of two apartment complexes in the town. Our backyard met up with the woods. The middle school was across the street up the hill, next to a convenience store and on the other side was the high school. I should have stayed put! Nearest town was 30 minutes away on both sides but I loved it! We didn't hear sirens... it was peacefully quiet. We were 20 minutes from the beach too! I don't know what possessed me to leave?
Here in Texas, I use to live out by the airport which, technically, is not the country but it may very well have been! The roads were dirt and I remember Christmas 2009 spending it stranded at my home because we had snow and cars weren't going anywhere! When I glanced down the road, most of my neighbors had their vehicles stuck in the road as well. If I needed ANYTHING at the last minute... it was a 20 minute drive into town to the nearest convenience store. It was peaceful... to a point... we were by the airport after all. :-\ lol But that commute into town for a loaf of bread just KILLED ME! :(
So this image reminded me of country living, it filled my need for country life but I'm still in the city! :) Here's my card:
Card stock is all retired Stampin' Up paper. The sentiment comes from two separate Raisin Boat clear stamp sets. The image is a Karen Sheltrown image called Cowboy and I've colored it with Copic markers. I've kept it very simple because it is for a man. Took everything I had to keep from adding glitter to his scarf and belt buckle. He's wearing chaps so I thought it best NOT to add sparkle of any kind. :)
Tomorrow is the last day to join us for our #5 Anything Goes Challenge! Don't miss out! :)

Monochrome Card and Goodbye DT Deni
Good Morning everyone, this post was going to be scheduled for the future challenge date, but unfortunately I am using it as my goodbye post.
I have very sadly decided to temporarily step down from my position as DT for Fitztown.
My Mum is going through Breast Cancer at the moment, and will be starting radiotherapy soon so I will not be around Fitztown as much as what I need to be, my family needs to come first before anything else. I honestly don't think I would be able to think about anything else anyway, so this is the only fair thing to do. I would like to thank Fitztown for having me on the Design Team, I have thoroughly enjoyed my time here and hope you will have me back down the track.
I would also like to thank the other DT girls for being around for me while my Mum has been fighting this, without their support I wouldn't be as strong as I am.
So now that I have done the hard part, here is my post for the Monochrome challenge which I created a little early since I had no idea what Monochrome was.
From my research into Monochrome, basically it means something which is done in shades of a certain colour, it can be shades of blues, shades of grey etc.
Yesterday morning I created this gorgeous card using a Fitztown Image from The Last Enchanter, you can find the image here.
Don't forget to come and check out the current Anything Goes challenge on the Fitztown Challenge Blog.
We also have a facebook page for you to check out here.
For this card I have used
Bella! Papers
Kmart Cardstock
Kaisercraft bling
Whimsy Stamps Vines Die
Bella! Paper Florals
Twiddleybitx Card Base
I have coloured the image using Copic Markers purchased from Craft a Lot.
Colours Used
W1, W3, W5, W7
Thanks for stopping by,
Deni
